Students in their 1st, 2nd or 3rd years in an undergraduate program in any college and any stream are allowed to take part in Mimamsa.
Teams can have 3 to 4 members, from any year (1st, 2nd or 3rd ) but all should be from the same institution.
Multiple teams from the same institute are allowed. However, a single participant can belong to only one team.
Mains
The top four scoring teams with positive scores in every subject will qualify for Mimamsa Mains
If multiple teams from the same institute fall in the top four, only the team with the highest score among them will qualify for Mains.
A participant that has qualified for Mains in any of the previous editions will not be eligible to appear for Mains in this edition even if they are among the top 4 teams in Prelims. (They are still eligible to appear and win rewards in Prelims )

Registering for Mimamsa Prelims is free of charge.
Each member of a team is required to provide us with their email address for identification and future communication.
Once registered, teams will be provided with a team ID.

Participants' phone numbers and email IDs will be used for further interactions about the competition.
Format of Mimamsa 2026
Teams participate in the competition, with 3 or 4 members.
The competition would be held in two stages: Prelims and Mains.
Prelims
The Prelims round will be held on an online platform and will be proctored.
The Prelims paper consists of 25 questions, and is 150 minutes long. Questions asked in Prelims range across all disciplines of science and mathematics and require knowledge only of high school science paired with critical thinking to solve.
Mains
Top 4 teams in the Prelims qualify for Mimamsa Mains. (See eligibility above.)
Mimamsa Mains would be a 4 day long competition consisting of various rounds, held on the IISER-Pune campus.
Travel, food, and lodging of the teams qualified for Mains would be completely paid or reimbursed by Team Mimamsa, for the duration of Mains.

Special sponsored cash prizes would be awarded to top female-only teams. The top scoring female team will be awarded 10,000 INR, and will be invited to the IISER Pune campus during Mains, and will be felicitated during the prize distribution ceremony. If the top female team is in the top four, then the second-highest scoring female team will be invited and awarded 6,000 INR.
The third-highest scoring female team will be awarded 4,000 INR. And, the remaining 7 female teams in the top 10 highest scoring female teams will be awarded 3,000 INR each.
